Requirements
| Requirement | Detail |
|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit |
| Input | A microphone that works in Windows |
| Storage | Enough free disk space for the app and any speech models you choose to download |
| Internet | Needed for download, updates, activation when required, cloud providers, and first-use model downloads |
| GPU | Optional for general use, but some local engines are designed for compatible NVIDIA GPUs |
Local does not always mean zero internet
Local speech recognition means audio is processed on your computer when a local engine is selected. You may still need internet for the installer, model downloads, license checks, updates, cloud AI providers, or cloud speech providers.
